Anyone have indirect ophthalmoscope eye exam test before? - indirect ophthalmoscope

I've heard that the indirect ophthalmoscope light can damage the retina if exposed to long, and now I have 15 minutes to proof, where my doctor in the eye with a bright light, so you can see the back of the eye and I fear that it might hurt my retina. Opinion?
